BATTERIE is a new solo performance project for musician/composer Jared Underwood. Each live set combines drum kit, electronics, looping, samples, effects and elements of improvisation. BATTERIE draws influence from a wide range of musical styles and genres including electronica, minimalism, electroacoustic music and sound art. Bands that have inspired the project include : Battles, Four tet, Tortoise, Caribou, Ratatat, Cornelious, and Gang Gang Dance.
Batterie has recently played some shows in Sydney at The Landsdowne and Low Bar and the most recent highlight being – supporting New York art pop group Gang Gang Dance at the Sydney Opera House in December.
Batterie has been played on Triple J in Fenella Kernebone’s show “The Sound Lab’ and also featured on Triple J’s Hack radio program on Oct 20th.
A music video clip co-directed by BATTERIE is in final stages of production at the moment featuring the wonderful talents of dancer Lo-arna Evangeline Okan and camera work of Asher Lily Green.
